SUNDAY CATECHISM CLASSES:
The Sunday Catechism programme at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Health is a vibrant ministry dedicated to nurturing children in their faith and helping them grow as active members of the Church.
- Children: 120
- Catechism Teachers: 10
- Volunteers: 5
- Catechism Classes: Every Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
- Holy Mass: 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
- Priest in-charge: Rev. Fr. Dwijesh
- Coordinator: Rajeshwari Cross.
Every quarter, a Special Children’s Mass is organised at 12:00 noon, providing children an opportunity to discover and showcase their talents through music, singing, liturgical participation and other creative activities.
During the summer holidays, we conduct a Summer Camp for approximately 150 children, supported by around 10 teachers and 20 volunteers. The camp combines faith formation, fellowship, learning, creativity and fun.
During Advent, Lent and Christmas, special celebrations are organised every Advent Sunday. These include Christmas celebrations, a live crib, carol competitions and various activities, followed by lunch for the children on the celebration days.
Every year, around 40 children from our parish and neighbouring parishes—Bazarghat, St. Alphonsa and St. Michael—are prepared and encouraged to participate actively in the spiritual and pastoral life of the Church by preparing them for their first confession and Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
As part of their Christian formation, the children are also taken to visit orphanages, helping them experience the joy of sharing, caring and serving others. They are encouraged to take an active role in various spiritual and Church activities, developing a deeper sense of faith, responsibility, compassion and community.
Through the dedicated service of our Parish Priest and Assistant Parish Priest teachers, volunteers and coordinator, the Sunday Catechism ministry seeks to form children in faith, inspire them to live the Gospel and help them grow into joyful and responsible young members of the Church.
